Hobbies

Over the past couple of months, I’ve realized that I need new hobbies and develop my current skills, at least in way that would help me socialize. Now that I’m not as stressed as I used to be, I have a chance to choose what I want to do and spend time on. I’ve never truly persisted on following through anything besides studying and despite being educational, it’s not enough build my personality.

But I’ve been thinking and decided to make a list of what I’m certain I want to do from here on. It’s very basic and maybe paints me a bit like a sim from that one game, but I can’t deny the fact that I’m taking inspiration from it. This year I want to:

  • Learn a new language: I can freely speak English and Italian besides my mother tongue and have a basic understanding in all Roman languages. I want to be able to use and speak another language, as well as attend some classes for socialization. I’m yet to decide what the language should be, however.
  • Learn a new skill or develop an old one: photography has not just been a passion, but sort-of-a side job to me for a while. And despite feeling confident enough to share my photos online, I have a lot of room to expand my knowledge and skills. But since I’ve had the chance to work on gigs and projects as a photographer, I’m thinking of maybe trying something new.
  • Choose what I want to study as master’s and use the following year to enrol: Even though I’m taking a year off from study duties, I’m certain I want to continue studying and top off my bachelor’s with a master’s. I’m just not yet sure what (or where) I want to study. Continuing film arts as a masters in producing and writing feels comfortable, but unnecessary and I’m still thinking about studying something in a different field.
