My twenties have so far been like going through the Drake passage: an exciting idea I anticipated before I set sail, only to realize what a nightmare it is once I got into it. The first twenty-five years of my life were filled with as much joy, as there was sorrow. But I’ve sailed through the tallest wave. I’ve made it on the other side of the sea.
Writing in my personal blog has helped me identify emotions, overcome difficult situations, even make big decisions – like moving away from the place I grew up in. It’s time to use it as a platform for someone else, which is why I’m starting a documentary podcast series titled “The Drake Passage.” In four episodes, my closest friends from back home will share their experiences and lessons, telling stories that have inspired me for years. Their words are filled with young wisdom that was crucial for our voyage into adulthood. I’ve always wanted to share these stories with the world.
And now that I’ve moved beyond the place where I met them, I can show their stories through my journey.
“The Drake passage: A collection of stories” is a documentary podcast about four of my closest friends in their mid-twenties, who share their experiences, most important lessons and advice on transitioning into adulthood – one of the most turbulent periods in a person’s lifetime. Each episode is dedicated to one of five major elements of personal growth: healing, professions, determination, relationships and history.
The series starts on November 1st and is available to stream on:
