There are lessons in life that you can only learn by observing. For me, it’s the determination and ambition of my friend Nina to always move forward even if there’s been a bump along the road. She’s confident and proud, with a secure idea of her future, and she’s always had a solution to every complaint she’s had. It’s the perfect female hurricane, which makes her one of my role models.
I’m certainly the last person to talk about consistency. I’m known to break my promises. I even avoid competing if there’s either a strong chance I’d win… or lose. But that doesn’t mean I’m not ambitious. And although I’m not competitive, perhaps there have been times in my life when ambition just wasn’t enough.
Nina is in my eyes a superhuman. She has the ability to take a deep breath and admit she’s made the wrong choice, which I couldn’t ever do. It has me wondering: am I being truthful with myself?
